Logan, let's go tell mommy

This morning, I hear Luke say, "Logan, come on. Let's go tell mommy." Then Lukes walks in the room (and I am anticipating him telling me something Logan did) and says, "Mommy, I swallowed a nail." What? A nail. I start asking him questions.
"What kind of nail, what did it look like?"
"I can't see it it's in my throat now."
"Does it hurt?"
"Yes"
"Where did you find it? Show me where it was, are there more?"
"It's in my throat now."
Hmmm, I'm not sure what to do, he's talking ok, and doesn't appear to be in pain, although he says his throat hurts. So, I call my mom and she says that I need to try and get more information from him and then call the doctor because it could puncture something. So I hang up and ask Luke some more questions.
"Luke, was it on the floor? Where did you find it? How big was it? Show me with your fingers how big it was."
He holds up his fingers for me, obviously not understanding my question.
So I hold up my thumb and forefinger and space them apart, "Was it this big? Or this big? Or this big?"
He looks at me and answers, "It was my toenail."
I never thought I'd be so happy to hear my son tell me he ate his toenail. Still a disgusting habit, but at least we don't have to get x-rays.
