Candy, Costumes and Community.
This Saturday is CandyFest, which is an event we host for the kids in our community around Halloween. I love planning big events and am looking forward to seeing this come together.
I am not sure what my costume will be this year. I posted a picture of my costume last year below. But this year, I'm just not sure. Especially being 6th months pregnant I'm not sure what would work. Any ideas? Luke wants to be a fire truck. Not a fire man, but a fire truck. I still haven't started on this yet. I have a good idea on how to make it, it's just taking the time to get it done. Logan gets to wear Luke's hand me down's so he will be Blue from Blue's Clues.
Community is really the heartbeat of our church. What we decide to do or not do is directly related to the impact it will have on our community. Which makes sense when you realize that nearly everyone who attends our church lives in our neighborhood. That is one of the missions of our church. It is highly encourged to become a homeowner in our neighborhood as we hope to not only have church in our building but have church throughout our community. We used to host CandyFest on the night of Trick-or-Treating, but then I realized that on the one night of the year that our neighbors actually come to our houses and knock on our doors I was pulling everyone out of their homes to help with CandyFest. This year we're doing CandyFest on Saturday so that on Monday folks from our church will be home meet those who are trick-or treating. We also have candy bar wrappers with our children's ministry information printed on them that you can give out. For those of you in Clifton, I'll have those for you at church on Sunday.

I don't remember where I read this, but here's a quick and easy costume idea. Get a super-big white t-shirt and paint a big yellow circle over your tummy. Then tease out your hair so that you look frazzled. TA-DA!! You're a fried egg.
so what did you do? you would die laughing at my costume...i'll send you a picture. but i would never post it on the internet.
