Logan's test results

We heard back from the Dr. today that his blood tests were normal. Below is an e-mail from him, explaining what that means.

"The labs we did included a complete blood count, and levels of the most common antibody cells (IG = immunoglobulins) that the body makes to fight off infection. Among the things that we wanted to rule out were one of a number of defects in the immune system that make one susceptible to frequent infections. Thankfully, Logan has normal immunocompetency."

Tomorrow morning he is getting a sweat test, to rule out cystic fibrosis. Below is the rest of the e-mail explaining what that is . . .

"The sweat test is specific for Cystic Fibrosis. This condition arises when the respiratory mucus is abnormally thick, and creates the tendency for frequent respiratory infections. It is more common in Caucasian boys than in girls, or in children of color. Given the fact that Logan has grown and thrived well in his young life, I do not expect this to be positive, but I would not be treating him thoroughly if we didn't check it."
