Singing a Silly Song

Last night was the kick-off for the Summer Activities Camp, which is our version of Vacation Bible School. I think I have the greatest team to work with! Everyone is commited to building relationships with the kids who attend and have a great time in the process. We offer 5 interests groups, this year we are offering Sign Language, Dance, Drama, Science, and Art. Kids come and learn these skills M-Th and then on Friday we invite their parents and friends to join us for a meal and watch the kids perform what they've learned throughout the week. This gives kids the opportunity to learn a skill and perform on a stage, who may not have that opportunity otherwise. I am so thankful to have people leading who are not only very qualified, but are also very passionate about their area. We also have the kids who attend divided into small groups where they build relationships with each other and have their Bible lesson each night. Please pray that the kids who attend will learn, and never forget these four lesson, "The Bible is true", "God is the Creator", "Sin separates us from God", and "Jesus connects us to God". The majority of kids who attend the camp are from our community and are not connected to people who are connected to Jesus. Starting next Sunday we are starting a Sunday afternoon Kids Church. Hopefully, this will provide a place for kids to continue to grow into a relationship with Jesus. Please pray that kids who do not already have this opportunity will come back for Kids church.
