I am so tired!

We just got back from vacation. There isn't enough time to do everything, but we still tried to cram it all into a few days. We started out tired because Sunday was the fourth of July, which means a late night right off the bat. We drove to Lovington, IL for the fireworks, which we'd been hyping up to Luke for weeks. By the time the fireworks started Luke was VERY tired. He HATED them!!! So, he slept in the van. Meanwhile, Logan LOVED them! I would have never guessed that Luke would be afraid but Logan would be amazed! Nonetheless, we left late that night to drive to my parents house in Chillicothe. John had class on Monday, in Lincoln. Monday night almost all of my family came over for a huge cookout. Family from both sides were there, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandkids, even my uncle's girlfriend came (who seems very talented, intelligent, and funny . . . she'll fit in great!). My brother's wife's family also came, and my father and brother in law came! It was really amazing to have everyone together! Tuesday morning we headed to Higbee, Missouri to spend time with my Mother-in-law. We went to the Lake of the Ozarks on Wednesday, and spent the day in Columbia on Thursday. We did so much in those two days, that it felt like we were there longer. I'm pretty sure that Grandma's horses' were one of the highlights of the trip for the kids. We left Friday morning and got home last night.

But even though I'm tired, I am thankful. Thankful that I'm not tired of my family. Instead, I'm tired of being away from my family. Although, for the most part, it doesn't seem time has passed when we're together. You know what I mean? The same old jokes, the same annoying quirks, the same bond of love. But then I look into my Grandpa's eyes, and see that yes, time has passed . . . and in that moment the things that are important make sense. So I want to let all of my family know, that I love you so much and am so proud to have each of you, as a part of me.
