Sunday we are heading to Lovington, Il, to celebrate the 4th with family. My brother's wife's family are all from Lovington. And it is their family that puts on the annual fireworks display. So Jonathan and Ashley will be there and my parents are also coming down. In anticipation of our visit I was prepping Luke on who we will see. I told him that Grandma and Grandpa will be there and he promptly responded with a loud, "I love them so much!". Well, I went on to explain that Grandpa broke his shoulder (after an accident in a Bike race)and we will have to be very careful when we see him. I told him that his shoulder hurt a lot and we probably won't be able to hug Grandpa. Luke quickly responded by saying, "Jesus will help his shoulder feel better. We can pray for him Mommy." So I offered Luke the opportunity to pray for him right then, and he did. He said, "Jesus please make Grandpa's shoulder feel better, Amen! YEEAAAA!"
The "Yeaaa!" part is the common ending to any prayer in the Wentz family house. Every time we finish praying we all clap and say our yea's. I'm sure we get some interesting glances when we're in a restaurant, but that's just fine with me.
Anyway, Dad, if your shoulder happened to feel better around 5:45 today, it may just be because someone who loves you sooo much said a prayer.
After telling this story to John, he told me he and Luke have been praying for you every night before he goes to bed. Any coincidence that you've been sleeping so well???
